The English and Creative Writing Programs at Sinclair

In the Creative Writing program (CRWE.S.AA) students explore the genres of creative writing such as poetry, fiction, and novel writing. Again, the program is designed for those students planning to transfer to a four-year program in creative writing, English, or a related field.

Insights Into Everything

Through exploration of writing and use of language, we learn how to think creatively and critically, how to reason and how to ask questions. These skills give us new insights into everything from poetry and paintings to business models and politics. English majors practice finding the themes in reading and writing and translate those themes to the human condition that surrounds them.

Broad Preparation for Transfer and Workplace

Our programs in English and Creative Writing provide excellent preparation for professional and graduate degrees in areas such as law, business, teaching, and publishing, to name a few. In addition, the programs offer a diverse curriculum in order to provide a solid basis in critical thinking and reading, which is the foundation of success in all scholarly and career endeavors.
