🟢Greetings and Best Wishes as always,
Just want to say ''thank you'' to the viewers and supporters of sim leagues and people like myself.
Just would like to thank everyone for the opportunity given to stream both Gray Wolf racing and ARC for over a year and a half now. I will still thank B.Evans for the opportunity. I decided it was time to end the Sunday Stream, for several reasons I will explain.
Dedication -
The last 4 or 5 months had issues with PCs (now fixed), then serious health issues. Never missed a stream the entire time even when the time slot was never really ideal for me as middle of my Sunday afternoon.
I've missed picnics, family gatherings, my favorite sports events and so on, even when unwell and still stayed dedicated to showing up and interacting with the viewers and drivers.
Parting
I prefer things to not be hearsay and come from horses mouth so :
I was given a 2nd hand verbal list of things that went wrong in this week's stream. I am not ESPN, Fox Sports, nor have a staff. Willing to work with anyone as long as they clearly communicate, needs being met.
Priorly leagues actually gave me clips to play ad ads for their leagues. I am not a ad production company, I would gladly run any league pre made ads presented to me, period. But if someone wants my to create ad reads and ad campaigns that's extra work for me, unpaid work, time and effort.
I feel that it is their responsibility to supply not mine. This was a 100% unpaid position.
I turned it into me generating a few bucks by moving it to twitch and improved the attendance by
800% with that move, a move that brought more exposure to the league as well. While on YouTube the chat was dead and on twitch the chat became alive and thriving rather than a morgue. So the decision even though unpopular was the correct one.
Some of the things were out of my control as sometimes things happen. I can't control when YouTube won't process a video or when twitch drops some audio, people need to understand that.
There also was extremely low attendance to this Sunday's stream.
Of which most of the viewers were friends of my channel rather than race fans, two choices were made, one to race a track at night that had no night lighting. This looked horrible on stream and produced less interest.
Also this split made it a 20 car race instead of 30+. These are thing I had no control over.
With the way these list of demands presented to me and fact I really no longer want to broadcast in said time slot I felt was good time to end the arrangement. I hold no ill will towards anyone just nothing is forever and some times you need to learn when to hold them and when to fold them. :)
Supporters
I'm appreciative of those people that hang out, and thankful for being supportive of my efforts as well as leagues in general.. I gave 2 options to viewers: watch live with ads, or watch 2 days later on youtube with no ads. The ads revenue accumulated in my paypal account over a year to purchase upgrades for pc, new ram and so on. If someone does not like ads they had opportunity to buy a sub which allowed them to watch ad free every Sunday.
I feel this was VERY fair as this was an unpaid position for 75 weeks, and about 230-250 hours of my time put into the production weekly.
Going forward:
In the near future I will be searching for 2 things: Opportunities to stream and announce ACC and IR in my time zone. North America PM times or Special events that happen every few weeks on weekends that are either morning or at night NA time zones. Feel free to approach me with ideas, or new opportunities. since I was immediately removed from ARC discord. Which is mind boggling but it is what it is, this action just fortified my decision.
This is the beginning of Woes broadcasting and I feel it overall has been a positive experience, by far not the end, a lot of seats out there ready to be filled by the right fit :).
Thank you!
