Nov 2024 : Notes from DSG on how he checked out reviews and tried various video and photo editors.
I feel the Adobe Editors -Photoshop (for photos) and Premiere (for videos) are still tops. However they are now subscription based. (unless you have an older version like I have!!) I accept that being familiar with them makes me lean towards the products.
Whilst there is a free Android version I feel it's poor.

Snapseed - photo s/w for Android and Apple.
Tried out some of the basic functions in Windows using MuMuPlayerX Android emulator and although a wee bit slow it worked ok.

Note that in Android 15 on my Samsung tablet I had to click on the white bar to the right of the screen to bring up the full list of functions.
