There are A LOT of different ways to count rhythm, but when you write a book you have to pick only one. The system I used in this book is great for groups as it helps them stay together on longer notes. There are, of course, drawbacks to it as well. I also like to speak each and every syllable while clapping at the start of each note. I'm sure you can think of other systems and syllables. Do whatever makes you happy!
