Is your SimpliSafe camera offline? You are not the one. A lot of SimpliSafe users have this problem. It happens a lot after the power goes out, you change your Wi-Fi or you update the firmware. The good thing is that of the time you can fix the problem in just a few minutes. You do not have to call for help.
Before we try to fix it, let's look at what causes the problem:
Your Wi-Fi signal is weak. It is not working
You changed the settings on your router like the password or the band
There is a problem with the cameras firmware or the app is frozen
You did not set up your SimpliSafe correctly after you moved or reinstalled it
Make sure your Wi-Fi router is working. Try to connect another device to the network. If the internet is not working, restart your router first.
Unplug the SimpliSafe camera from the power outlet. Wait for 15-20 seconds. Then plug it in. Wait for up to 60 seconds for it to connect again.
Sometimes the app does not work correctly. Close it completely on your phone. Open it again. Check if the camera is working now.
If the camera is still not working you need to reset it.
Find the reset button on the back or bottom of the SimpliSafe camera
Press and hold it for 10 seconds until the light flashes
Wait for the SimpliSafe camera to restart
Add the SimpliSafe camera again in the app under Cameras > Add Device
After a reset, complete the SimpliSafe setup again through the app:
