The Mission of SimplifIEP is to provide Consultation and Advocacy to educators and families in need of knowledge and implementation of IDEA, special education services, parent's and children's rights, and IEP development.
Heather Desrochers has been an Educator for nearly 25 years. She holds degrees in Special Education, General Education, School Counseling, and School Leadership as well as certifications in New York, New Hampshire and Louisiana in Administration, Counseling and Teaching. Highlights in her career include participation on a committee to update charter renewal and expand to include High School programming; Co-authorship of the book A School Counselor's Guide to Special Education, published by Sage Publishing; and speaking at the New York State School Counselor's Conference. She has held positions as a Special Education Teacher, Special Education Building Leader, School Counselor, 504 Coordinator, and most recently, Special Education Director. She has advocated for families and children across multiple states to ensure rights and services were met.
