Melbourne is known for many things, among them the exciting coffee culture that makes sipping coffee an unforgettable experience. The city is dotted with many cafes. Take a stroll along the laneways to check out the choice of cafes. Admire the pretty latte art, and enjoy a cuppa along the way.
Weekend getaways from Melbourne can involve an overnight stay at Mount Buller, a stay at one of the country towns, or a road trip along the Great Ocean Road. You may visit https://www.visitmelbourne.com for further information on places to visit during different seasons of the year.
We visited Mount Buller, a resort town in the Alpine region of Victoria state about 208 kilometres from Melbourne in early Spring 2008. It is a popular place among winter sports enthusiasts, but when we were there in spring, snow was already melting away. However, the scenic surroundings were breathtaking and the mountain air was crisp, refreshing and energising.

A trip along the Great Ocean Road which stretches 243km along the south-eastern coast of Australia can bring much wonder and charm. One of the most well-known landmarks along the scenic drive and located in the Port Campbell National Park are huge limestone structures towering 45 meters above the Southern Ocean. They are named the 12 Apostles.
As we watched the sun rising, we were mesmerised by nature's beauty.
For a day tour, a trip to the Dandenong Ranges National Park located 31km east of the Melbourne city centre can be comfortably completed within a morning or a day.
