Beginning in 1996, I completed college courses for Systems Administration and Computer Repair.
I was then hired by the now closed "Computer City" company, working in their store in San Jose, California, in the middle of Silicon Valley.
I was then hired by a Temp Agency working for Seagate Technology, based in Scotts Valley, California, working at their San Jose campus. Seagate continues to design and manufacture the most reliable hard disc drives on the market.
I moved from Desktop Support helping end users with their PC problems to Systems Architecture, and was asked to relocate to Seagate's facility in Longmont in 1999 where I became the site's Email and Database administrator and developer, as well as the team's Project and Budget Managers.
In 2007, I was promoted to IT Manager, overseeing a team of 7 technicians. Shortly thereafter, Seagate downsized and I returned to Systems Administration.
After a big company-wide layoff in 2009, I have been freelancing, performing an even wider variety of technical work for a huge variety of customers and companies in the Fort Collins area.
