Born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1974. Fernández lives near the city of Atlanta, in the state of Georgia. Fernández's work has been inspired by the German expressionism of in between wars. Egon Schiele and Max Beckman are some of his favorite artists. In his paintings, Fernández explores the themes of contemplation and inner struggle. Fernández uses different media but giving general preference to oils.

Fernandez has had his work exhibited in different art shows and galleries; among those, Indiana University East, Richmond Art Museum, and Kennesaw State University. His work has been sold through the years to several individual collectors. Fernández continues to work constantly to define his own style.
