Simple Alarm is a simple alarm clock app with world clock, stopwatch, snooze, and themes. It is developed by SHIVANSH INFOTECH, based in Gujarat, India.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app. We designed Simple Alarm to be lightweight and respect your privacy. The app does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information. Any data recovery operations are performed locally on your device.
We encourage you to read this policy carefully. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Simple Alarm Android app published by SHIVANSH INFOTECH. It describes the types of information we may collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The policy complies with Google Play Developer Program Policies (including User Data and Data Safety requirements), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the EU, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).
Simple Alarm is designed so that we do not collect any personal data from you through the app itself.
The app runs primarily on your device.
Alarm settings, world clock preferences, stopwatch data, themes, and other customizations are stored locally on your device using Android’s local storage (Room Database). This data never leaves your device through our application.
We do not require login, email, name, or any other identifying information.
Limited technical data may be processed automatically through the third-party services listed in this policy (such as crash reports or ad performance metrics). These services are described in detail below. No personal identifiers are linked to you unless you interact with ads or certain Firebase features.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on the following legal bases where any processing occurs through integrated services:
Legitimate interests — to provide and improve the app, ensure functionality, display relevant ads, and maintain security.
Consent — where required for analytics, advertising, or performance monitoring (you can manage or withdraw consent via device settings or app permissions).
Contractual necessity — to deliver the core features you expect when you install and use the app.
Simple Alarm uses only the permissions necessary for its core functions. We request permissions transparently, and you can manage or revoke them at any time in your device settings.
Runtime permissions are handled via the Dexter library for a smooth user experience.
Common permissions may include:
Alarm and notification permissions — required to set and trigger alarms, snooze reminders, and show notifications even when the app is in the background. Without these, alarms would not work reliably.
Internet access (network permissions) — needed to load world clock time zones from reliable sources, display ads, send anonymized analytics, and enable features like Firebase services for crash reporting and performance monitoring.
Wake lock / foreground service permissions — to keep alarms accurate even when the device is asleep or the screen is off.
Other standard Android permissions may be requested only when a specific feature requires them (e.g., for optional theme downloads or media handling via Glide).
We never use permissions for purposes unrelated to the app’s functionality. Uninstalling the app removes all associated local data.
All user-created data (alarms, settings, themes, etc.) is stored locally on your device using Room Database. This data does not leave your device through Simple Alarm.
We use industry-standard technical measures to protect the app, including the Paranoid Gradle Plugin for string obfuscation to help prevent reverse engineering. However, no system is completely impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Firebase services (Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, etc.) may transmit limited, anonymized technical data for stability and performance improvements.
We use the following libraries and SDKs to deliver a better user experience. Each has its own privacy practices. We encourage you to review them:
SDP (com.intuit.sdp:sdp-android:1.1.0) and SSP (com.intuit.ssp:ssp-android:1.1.0) — Used for responsive UI and scalable text across different screen sizes and device ratios. No data collection.
Glide (com.github.bumptech.glide:glide:4.16.0) — Loads and displays images efficiently within the app. Processes media locally where possible.
RoundedImageView (com.makeramen:roundedimageview:2.3.0) — Creates aesthetically pleasing rounded or circular image views for themes and UI elements.
Paranoid Gradle Plugin (io.michaelrocks:paranoid-gradle-plugin:0.3.7) — Obfuscates string literals in the code to enhance security against reverse engineering.
Gson (com.google.code.gson:gson:2.10.1) — Handles JSON data conversion internally for app features.
SwipeRefreshLayout — Enables pull-to-refresh gestures for a smoother interface.
Lottie — Plays lightweight, high-quality animations from JSON files.
Room Database (androidx.room:room-runtime:2.2.5) — Provides secure local storage for your alarms, settings, and preferences on your device. This does not store or transmit your contact data (or any personal data) to any third parties.
Dexter (com.karumi:dexter:6.2.3) — Simplifies runtime permission handling.
Shimmer (com.facebook.shimmer:shimmer:0.5.0) — Creates smooth loading animations for better user experience.
Google Play Billing (com.android.billingclient:billing:7.1.1) — Handles in-app purchases and subscriptions securely.
Firebase Bill of Materials and Services:
Firebase Analytics, Firestore, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Messaging — Used for understanding app usage (anonymized), real-time data sync where needed, crash reporting, performance insights, and sending occasional notifications. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob, AdX, and Meta/Facebook Audience Network) — Displays ads in the app. These services may collect device and advertising identifiers for showing relevant ads.
Simple Alarm shows ads via Google AdMob (including AdX) and Meta (Facebook) Audience Network. Ads help keep the app free for most users.
Advertising partners may collect device information, advertising ID, and interaction data to show personalized or non-personalized ads.
We use Firebase Analytics for anonymized insights into how people use the app (e.g., which features are popular). This helps us improve Simple Alarm.
You can limit ad personalization through your device settings (Google Ads settings or Android advertising ID reset).

The app itself does not use traditional web cookies. However, advertising and analytics services (AdMob, Firebase, Meta) may use similar technologies such as device identifiers, SDKs, or mobile advertising IDs. These function similarly to cookies for measuring ad performance and providing relevant content.
You can manage these via device settings.
Because the app stores data locally and does not collect personal information directly, most processing is limited to what is necessary for the app to function and for the third-party services described above.
Any limited data sent to Firebase or ad networks is for operational purposes (crash fixes, performance, ad delivery) and is handled according to those providers’ policies.
Local data (alarms, settings) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Data processed by third-party services is retained according to their policies (e.g., Firebase, Google, Meta).
Uninstalling Simple Alarm removes all local data associated with the app from your device.
Simple Alarm offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions for premium features.
All payments and subscriptions are handled safely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or see your payment details such as card information or Google account passwords.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them before the next billing date. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your Google Play account settings. If you cancel, you will continue to enjoy premium features until the current billing period ends.
Purchase Information: Google may share limited, non-personal purchase details with us, such as subscription status or validity, so we can unlock premium features.
Refunds & Cancellations: All refund requests must be made through Google Play, following Google Play’s refund rules.
Third-Party Sharing: We do not share your purchase or subscription information with any third parties, except when required by Google for payment verification.
All in-app purchases and subscriptions follow Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
If you are in the EEA, you have rights including:
Access — Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you (contact us).
Correction or Deletion — Ask us to correct or delete your data where applicable.
Restriction or Objection — Object to certain processing.
Portability — Receive your data in a usable format (where technically feasible).
Since most data is local, many rights are exercised by managing device settings or uninstalling the app. For data held by third parties, contact them directly or reach out to us.
California residents have rights to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers because the app is a native Android application. You can control tracking and advertising preferences through your device settings.
SHIVANSH INFOTECH is based in Gujarat, India. Some third-party services (Firebase, Google, Meta) are based in the United States or other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, the providers apply appropriate safeguards as described in their privacy policies.
We take reasonable steps to ensure the app does not contain malware and is not used for network misuse. The Paranoid plugin helps protect against reverse engineering. We encourage users to download only from Google Play.
The app may contain links to external sites or resources for information (e.g., time zone data sources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Always review their policies.
Simple Alarm is not targeted at or intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SHIVANSH INFOTECH, our users, or the public.
