For your situation I'd recommend DeadBeeF. It's light, fast and, silly name aside, it can do exactly what you want. Just point the player to the folder you want to play, arrange the files alphabetically via the 'Title' column and let it play your music.

The problem is that a lot of simple players are just stupid. They crush, or won't natively open flac, ape or cue files and such, or, if you add them the needed plugins to play them, they crush after that etc.

But so it happens that the best player around is also the lightest and simplest if you do not need addons/plugins - it is still light and fast with all that, and that's why it is the best; but anyway:

Considering Winamp itself: why not try it in Wine? It seems fast and light. Unless you want to try the real best player for Windows, and, through Wine, a serious favorite as the best in Linux: Foobar2000. (See related answer.)

I'd recommend decibel-audio-player. Simple, lightweight, efficient and made just to play music. Best replace for winamp2 for me.It's available through standard repository and at launchpad.

Their construction is highly durable consisting of a strong wooden enclosure with a high strength plastic covering. The loudspeaker grille is cloth finished but reinforced with a steel mesh to avoid any damage to the speaker. Rubber feet ensure that the player does not slip. It can be wiped down with a damp cloth if required.

**great for a dance or two!!

NAME THAT TUNE; what a great activity to play. Download up to 1,000 songs. Open the lid to the music player and play the first few lines, then close it and let them guess. If they can't get the answer then open the lid and play more. When they get it right you can play the whole song or just press the button and go on to the next.

A. Yes, Simple Music Players bought since June 2015 have an Apple compatible USB interface. (Please note that it is not an Apple device so it cannot play 'Apple protected' .m4p downloads).

Q. I've reformatted the player, transferred the disk and now nothing plays?

A. If you reformat the player, you must choose an MSDOS-FAT format option, NOT an Apple IOS format.

A. We have to use a special technique and a more expensive production process to achieve this attractive finish. The casing is vacuum formed not injection molded for the-walnut version.

Q. Do you know if/how to change the order of the songs the player plays? Does it always go back to the first song? Any way it can "shuffle?"

A.We purposely don't have a shuffle function due to our front end research. The intent of the music player is to leave it permanently plugged in so that it plays in a complete loop (and doesn't require the additional operation of plugging the power in to make it work, for the person with dementia). Generally we have found that most people with dementia only require between 25 and 40 tunes and the familiarity of the cycle is more positive than a random choice. When it is stopped by lowering the lid, it will restart from that position (i.e. not from the beginning)

Obviously as a cognizant person if you keep switching it on at the mains and it starts playing the same tune then it becomes monotonous but this isn't what we've found with people with dementia. The continual loop of familiar music is far more associative than a random shuffle facility. The requirement for 'shuffle' tends to be the desire of a fully cognizant person, not the intended user.

Q.How do I delete the pre loaded music.

A. The Simple Music Player looks for and plays all the comparable files it finds on its internal memory regardless of which directory of folder they are in.

The problem arises when some operating systems(i.e. certain versions of Apple iOS and Linux) don't actually delete the files when you press the 'erase' button, but creates a hidden sub-folder called '.trash'(or similar like '.trash100',etc) and simply moves them into that folder.Whilst you can't see the files, they still exist and so the music player is finding them and playing them.

To resolve the problem you have two choices:

1) empty the .trash folder that's been created on the music player by your computer. In MAC OS X v10.3 or later, you can securely delete items by choosing Secure EMPTY TRASH from the Finder menu. There is information on how to do this here:

 -Force-11481

(1) for example.

2) reformat the Simple Music Player memory card (this will delete everything on the Simple Music Player) and then drag and drop the music you want back on to it again.

Q. HOW TO REFOMAT?

A. The Simple Music Player acts exactly the same as if its a USB stick or flash drive plugged into your machine,so formatting is just the same operation. YOU MUST REFORMAT USING FAT32 OPTION;OTHER OPTIONS WILL NOT WORK.

YOU CAN ALSO GO TO WWW.DEMENTIAMUSIC.CO.UK AND THE ANSWER IS THE FORTH QUESTION ON THE LIST.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ONLY POWER UP THE MUSIC PLAYER ONCE THE USB CABLE IS PLUGGED IN,OR ELSE IT WILL NOT OPERATE IN USB MODE

I love the look of a lot of Elianora's player homes (and the idea behind a lot of the unique homes like Shalidor's Staff or the Dwemer Cube) but it seems I can never find a house that has all the features I want.

EDIT: For anyone else who is as picky as I am and having trouble sorting through all the literally hundreds of great options out there looking for those simple, one worldspace diamonds, I've managed to come across a couple that hit nearly all the points on my list. The two I'll mention do have some space spread to an upper floor of the homes, so I've compromised in that regard, but they are compact enough and flow well enough that it isn't really a problem. Plus, they look really great. So far, my two favorites are Lakeview Manor - As It Should Be and Elianora's Breezehome refit. Lakeview takes some work, and you have to build it exactly right (and I experienced a small bug that reloading was able to fix), but it's nice and I like the location. Breezehome is a classic which is in a location I tend to frequent (since the Companions are my usual go-to faction at the beginning of each game), and I really love Elianora's aesthetic work. My favorite would be Aevon-Tor, but there are loading-screen doors separating some pretty crucial parts of the house. If everything were in one world space, it'd be perfect for me - maybe you'll like it.

I just need an audioplayer that just plays audio. I don't want it to grab album art, categorize my tracks. I want something like mpv, and actually I am using mpv for my work, but it doesn't work well with Gnome as you may know.

Thanks for sharing the update to the Minecraft player rig. I gotta say, the original Blender rig was already dope, but this update just takes it to the next level! I'm digging the new animations and the overall smoothness of the rig."Thanks for sharing the update to the Minecraft player rig. I gotta say, the original Blender rig was already dope, but this update just takes it to the next level! I'm digging the new animations and the overall smoothness of the rig. I'm always on the lookout for cool Minecraft resources. If you are too, check out They've got everything from texture packs to mods, and even some sick server listings. Definitely gonna bookmark that for future reference. Anyway, thanks again for sharing the updated player rig. Can't wait to mess around with it and see what kind of sweet animations I can come up with."

So if bot-building is a main feature, and players of Cogmind therefore most likely enjoy bot-building, then perhaps there are other areas we could apply this activity? What about designing robots other than yourself?

For MKRZero, the microSD Slot is built in. A .wav file named "test.wav" is in the card's root directory. For a simple test you can attach a pair of headphones directly to ground and DAC0, respecting the polarity.

In this example, we have learned how to create a simple audio player using the AudioZero library! If you want to extend this project, take a look at the Weather Audio Notifier tutorial to create a project that notifies you of weather changes.

This tutorial is designed to get you up and running with Unity as quickly as possible by showing you how to create a simple player controller system. This player controller and corresponding camera controller system can easily be applied to different types of game player objects such as first person, third person, physics based players, and different types of vehicles.

Firstly I was interested in using physics based players. An example of this is the rolling ball in the Unity Roll a ball tutorial. Other physics based players can include things like flying or rolling vehicles. Physics based movement can be tricky to work with but it also lends itself well to physics based interactions with other physics based objects in the game environment.

Another reason why I wanted to investigate a relatively simpler method for player movement is because I am interested in developing player controls that can be more easily translated to working with mobile devices that do not normally have a mouse input option. My idea here is that I could create simple UI buttons that could be tapped on mobile devices to control the movement, similar to say the mobile / joystick control systems that you can find in the Unity Asset Store and Youtube.

The advantage of this system is that you can adjust the position of the camera to either look at your player as in a third person game or be in the position of your player as in a first person game. And, if your player is rotating or spinning around due to rolling or collisions etc this does not necessarily affect the rotation of camera. For a first person controller you can simply turn off the mesh rendering of your player object, in which case the rigid body (or say physical shape) of your player can still interact with the physical environment. ff782bc1db
