Originally from Whitehorse YT Canada, I'm a fourth-year university student aspiring to work in the field of cybersecurity. I have a strong background in a variety of IT-related software, platforms, programming languages, frameworks, and applications through my numerous co-op placements.  With a strong interest in networking, security, and human-computer interaction, I am intrigued by the challenges and opportunities in smart home technology. Smart home technology intersects with all three of these fields, requiring reliability, security, and usability to be a great product. Beyond my academic interest, I am an active smart home user, having experience with both Google and Apple’s approaches to the smart home ecosystem. Over the years, I have explored how smart home technology can improve daily life. From automating lighting and climate control based on the conditions in a room to using speakers for multi-room music playback and communication, I have first-hand experience into the benefits and frustrations of smart home ecosystems.
