I am an Associate Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Sciences, eCampus University (Como) and a Research Fellow at the University of Turin (Turin). I also collaborate as Associate Editor for Psychophysiology journal of the Society for Psychophysiological Research. In Italy, I hold the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as both Associate Professor (2022) and Full Professor (2025) in the scientific-disciplinary sector 11/E1–PSIC-01B (Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neurosciences), formerly M-PSI/02 (General Psychology, Psychobiology, and Psychometrics).

My research focuses on the functional interplay between brain networks involved in emotional learning, action control and inhibition, brain plasticity, visual perception, and higher cognitive functions. To investigate these domains, I primarily employ non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), combined with physiological measures including electroencephalography (EEG), skin conductance response (SCR), and heart rate variability (HRV). My studies involve both healthy individuals, to explore intra- and inter-individual variability, and patients with acquired brain injury. Through an integrated multimodal approach, I aim to uncover how cognitive, behavioral, and physiological processes interact in the human brain. Ultimately, my work seeks to develop innovative neurorehabilitation protocols, with particular emphasis on cortico-cortical paired associative stimulation (ccPAS) to enhance neuroplasticity and support functional brain recovery.

My research has been recognized with several international and national awards, including the SPR Early Career Award (Society for Psychophysiological Research, 2025), the FESN Prize (Federation of the European Societies of Neuropsychology, 2025), and the ESCAN Young Investigator Award (European Society for Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, 2024). In Italy, I received the AIP Young Researcher Award (Italian Association of Psychogeriatrics, 2024) and the SINP Best Ph.D. Thesis Award (Italian Society of Neuropsychology, 2020).
