Tasks: I contributed to proposing activities and the overall organization of the event, which aimed to bring together departmental personnel in a friendly environment while also addressing important issues related to research and academia and life in the department. My contributions particularly focused on managing discussions about national research policies and the impact on departmental decisions.

Local events related to the European Researchers’ Night
2023: Science4All, University of Padua: Capire non è sempre facile: tra rumori e pronunce sbagliate (‘Understanding isn’t always easy: amidst noise and mispronunciations’). Auditory lexical decision task with sentence-embedded target words, manipulating target words predictability and intelligibility (vocoding or phoneme mispronunciation). Participants familiarized with the topics of speech perception in difficult listening situations, lexical predictability, and top-down effects on speech perception. Analyses were performed automatically with a custom-made script in R and, by scanning a QR code, participants could download their own report generated with RMarkdown.
2022: Science4All, University of Padua: Anticipare le parole e leggere le labbra per sentire meglio (‘Anticipating words and reading lips to hear better’). Interactive presentation on linguistic prediction in audiovisual speech in deaf people with cochlear implant.

Brain Awareness Week
2022 (March 16, 2022; Palazzo del Bo, University of Padua, Padua, Italy): Parlare fluentemente aiuta ad anticipare cosa diranno gli altri (‘The ability to speak fluently helps anticipating what other people will say’). In the interview, with a colloquial tone and aimed at a general public, I talked about my academic background, my PhD and post-doc experience, and my most recent research interests. The podcast aims at familiarizing people outside of academia with research and life in a university department, at all academic levels (PhD students, postdocs, professors), and divulging the various research lines in the department.
