World Premiere: Rhapsody for Viola and Piano at AltoFest 2023 Off

Titled: Tea with Debussy and Pärt in Casablanca

Kin Musique, Montreal - October 8th, 2023

You have the opportunity to kick off the 2023-2024 "Altinder" season of AltoFest OFF with a passionate and captivating violist and composer, a match that is almost certain: Vincent Delorme. Few remain unaffected by his charms, as they are manifold: impressionistic sensuality, soul jazz, post-romantic passion, intellectual curiosity in his collaborations with contemporary composers... Get ready for a stimulating encounter in the intimate and distinctive setting of the Kin Musique hall in the city center.

Jealousy should be set aside, however, as Vincent will immediately introduce his other partners and collaborators: Natsuki Hiratsuka (piano), Benjamin Sutton (cello), Marie-Claire Vaillancourt and Jeanne Côté (violins), as well as the composer Simon Alami, who has expressly written a sonata for viola and piano for him on the occasion of AltoFest. The premiere of this piece will take place right before your eyes and ears!

On the program:

Ravel, Quartet in F major, 2nd movement, 1903 (7 min)

Delorme, Quartet in G Major "Taking It All," 1st and 4th movements, 2022 (15 min)

Clarke, 2 pieces for viola and cello, 1916 (7 min)
