DEREK ROSE

100 Years. A Hundred Roses. A Century of Craft. 🌹

It is a real pleasure to share this collaboration with @derekrose for their 100th anniversary.
Happy Birthday! 

For this celebration, I had the honour of directing a stop motion animation. I designed and created this rose using a patchwork of beautiful Derek Rose fabric samples from their archive. Colourful fabric samples form the petals. Simple, distinct shapes layer together to create the rose. I love the idea that something no longer in use can be used to create something new and meaningful. This concept of transformation and birth is at the heart of the work.
