If you want a dedicated, specialized replacement unit with three distinct sound profiles and a guaranteed 20-hour runtime for your specific SIMOLIO TV system, choose SIMOLIO Replacement Headphones; if you need a versatile, low-latency 2.4G headset designed for seniors with mild hearing loss that works across multiple home devices, choose ZohangHorizon 2.4G.
• SIMOLIO Replacement Headphones: Offers a precise fit for the SM-829D1/SM-829D2 Plus Version transmitters with unique dialogue-enhancing sound modes, but is strictly limited to replacing older units in that specific ecosystem.
• ZohangHorizon 2.4G: Delivers ultra-low latency audio sync and built-in voice amplification for general TV watching without needing a specific brand transmitter, though it lacks the granular sound profile customization of the SIMOLIO.
• Who buys which: Pick the SIMOLIO if you own the Plus Version system and need a direct upgrade or spare; pick the ZohangHorizon if you are buying a standalone wireless solution for family members who struggle to hear dialogue.
The SIMOLIO Replacement Headphones are not a general-purpose audio device; they are a targeted solution for owners of the SIMOLIO SM-829D1 and SM-829D2 systems who specifically purchased the "Plus Version." If you have these transmitters and your original headphones have failed or you simply need an extra pair, this is the only logical choice. The design focuses entirely on seamless integration with the existing RF technology used by that specific base station. You cannot use these as standalone Bluetooth headphones to connect directly to a phone or a non-SIMOLIO TV; they must pair with the proprietary transmitter included with the Plus Version set.
What makes this unit stand out for its intended user is the depth of audio customization. Unlike many budget replacements that offer a single flat volume setting, the SIMOLIO provides three distinct sound profiles: clear dialogue, standard, and cinema. This allows you to tailor the listening experience to your specific environment. If you are watching a news broadcast where every word matters, you can select the clear dialogue mode. For movies, the cinema mode shifts the balance. This level of control is rare in replacement parts and suggests a focus on maximizing the utility of the original system rather than just providing a basic signal pipe.
Comfort is another pillar of this design. The over-ear construction features ergonomic protein earmuffs and a retractable soft-padded headband. The ear pads are fully sealed to provide noise isolation, which is critical for the target demographic of seniors or those with hard-of-hearing needs. By blocking outside noise effectively, the headphones allow users to listen at lower volumes while still understanding the program clearly. The battery life is equally impressive for a daily driver, supporting up to 20 hours of continuous wireless listening on a full charge. Charging is flexible, allowing you to place the headphones back on the original transmitter stand or use the included USB cable for direct power.

However, there is a significant trade-off: compatibility is absolute. If your transmitter does not belong to the Plus Version—meaning it lacks the BT/TV switch on the right earphone or uses a simple ON/OFF switch—these headphones will not work. They are not universal. They also do not function as primary Bluetooth earbuds for mobile devices. If you are looking for a pair of head phones for switch gaming or general entertainment that isn't tied to a specific legacy TV box, this product will disappoint you. It is a maintenance part first and a consumer gadget second.
The ZohangHorizon 2.4G takes a completely different approach, positioning itself as a modern, standalone solution for the entire household. Rather than being locked into a specific brand's ecosystem, this headset utilizes advanced 2.4G wireless technology to deliver near-zero latency audio. This is a crucial distinction for anyone who has ever tried using standard Bluetooth headphones with a television. Standard Bluetooth often introduces a noticeable delay between the video and the audio, which ruins the immersion during sports, action movies, or fast-paced dramas. The 2.4G transmission here ensures the picture and sound stay perfectly synchronized, making it a superior choice for lag-sensitive viewing compared to ordinary Bluetooth options.
This product is explicitly engineered with hearing assistance in mind. It includes a built-in audio amplification chip designed to help seniors with mild hearing loss distinguish voices from background noise. The volume can be adjusted independently, meaning you can boost the clarity of the dialogue without necessarily blasting the entire soundtrack. The design philosophy centers on comfort for extended wear; the lightweight headband and soft padded earmuffs are meant to prevent fatigue even after a whole day of watching. The beige color option also suggests a design choice aimed at blending into a living room aesthetic rather than looking like technical equipment.
Versatility is the main selling point here. While it comes with a dedicated transmitter for plug-and-play connection to smart TVs, set-top boxes, PCs, and laptops, the underlying 2.4G architecture implies a broader range of utility. It is not restricted to one brand's specific receiver model. This makes it an excellent choice for someone who wants a high-quality private listening companion without having to buy a new TV system or worry about version compatibility. It serves as a perfect gift for parents, offering them the ability to watch their favorite shows at a comfortable volume without disturbing others in the house.
The trade-off lies in the lack of specialized sound profiles found in the SIMOLIO. While it offers stereo surround sound and good amplification, it does not offer the specific "clear dialogue" or "cinema" toggles that allow for granular EQ adjustments. It relies on its amplification chip and general stereo tuning to get the job done. Additionally, while the battery life is described as supporting "hours of continuous listening," it does not specify the exact 20-hour benchmark provided by the SIMOLIO, so power management might require more frequent charging depending on usage intensity. It is a robust, all-around performer, but it sacrifices some of the niche customization for broader compatibility and better latency performance.

In my opinion, if you are specifically looking for head phones for switch scenarios where you already own the SIMOLIO hardware, the SIMOLIO Replacement Headphones are the only viable path forward due to their strict compatibility requirements. However, for the vast majority of shoppers seeking a reliable wireless solution for their living room, I recommend the ZohangHorizon 2.4G. The combination of low-latency 2.4G transmission and built-in hearing assistance makes it a far more practical tool for everyday family viewing. It solves the annoying problem of audio lag and helps everyone hear the dialogue clearly, regardless of whether they own a specific TV brand or not. It is the smarter, more flexible choice for a modern home setup.
No, the SIMOLIO Replacement Headphones work exclusively with the SM-829D1 and SM-829D2 "Plus Version" transmitters. They will not connect to the original or non-Plus versions of these models.
The ZohangHorizon 2.4G uses 2.4G technology specifically to avoid the audio delay issues found in standard Bluetooth headsets, ensuring perfect synchronization for movies and sports.
Both offer benefits, but the ZohangHorizon 2.4G features a dedicated audio amplification chip designed to amplify voices and suppress background noise, making it highly effective for those with mild hearing difficulties.
Yes, both the SIMOLIO and ZohangHorizon models include USB charging cables, allowing you to power the batteries directly without relying on the transmitter dock.
