Jessica Simien Lofton began her media journey in high school when she ran for the title of Homecoming Queen. Before she'd ever heard of public relations and marketing, her natural awareness of personal branding led her to take her campaign to a level not seen before. Instead of just putting up posters throughout the halls of the buildings, Jessica went the extra mile and created small flyers with her name and photo on them and passed them out during lunch and other times when foot traffic was high. She went on to win the title of Murrah High School's Homecoming Queen in 2005.
Jessica is a proud graduate of Jackson State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Speech and Dramatic Arts in 2010. While at JSU, Jessica was an active member of the JSU Dance Ensemble, the Public Relations Student Society of America, the JSU Chapter of the NAACP, and the National Association of Black Journalists. She also earned a master's degree in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi.
In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of Simien Media Group, Jessica is a professional lifestyle and parenting content creator and the co-owner of Lofton & Co., a family-run home goods and gifting company. She currently resides in Jackson, Mississippi with her husband Tony and their three children.
