SIMCHECK'S PRIVACY POLICY

1. OVERVIEW

This Privacy Policy explains how the SimCheck app, published by SimCheck FS, the independent developer of SimCheck ("SimCheck", "the app", "we", "us"), handles information. SimCheck is a flight-simulation checklist/EFB companion application. It has no user accounts and no backend service of our own: everything you create in the app stays on your device.

SimCheck is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with any aircraft manufacturer, airline, operator or civil aviation authority.

By installing or using SimCheck, you agree to this policy.

2. DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

All content you create or import is stored only in the app's local storage on your device. We never receive it, and it is never uploaded to any server operated by us. This includes:

Deleting an item in the app, clearing the app's data, or uninstalling the app permanently removes that data. We cannot recover it, so please use the built-in export features to keep your own backups.

This data is held in ordinary local app storage and is not encrypted by us. Files you create with the export features are plain, unencrypted files: once saved, moved or shared, anyone with access to the device or the file can read them, and they are entirely under your control. Because SimCheck is a simulation tool, please do not enter or import real personal, confidential, medical, employment or safety-of-life information.

Storage and export size are limited by your device and its browser engine. Very large data sets — long note histories, many annotated charts or large imported chart files — may fail to save, export or import. As a safety measure, SimCheck also enforces its own maximum file sizes and strict format checks on imported files, and rejects any file that is too large or that does not match the expected format. Exporting is provided on a best-effort basis.

3. MICROPHONE AND SPEECH RECOGNITION

Three optional features use the microphone: the ATC recorder in the Notepad, voice dictation in the Notepad, and voice-activated checklists. The microphone is only accessed while you are actively using those features, and only after your device grants permission.

Voice-activated checklists use your device's own built-in speech recognition service. Depending on your device, operating system and settings, that service may process the audio on the device or through the device or browser vendor's own speech service, under their privacy policy. The ATC recorder and Notepad dictation are different: they use an on-device speech model that you choose to download, and their audio and transcripts stay on your device.

In both cases the app keeps recordings and transcripts in local storage on your device only; they are never transmitted to us, and the spoken checklist call-outs are pre-recorded audio files bundled with the app. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your device settings.

4. NETWORK CONNECTIONS

SimCheck works offline. The only outbound network connections the app itself makes are for Google Play services, such as app verification and update checks, and for the optional download of speech-recognition model files from the Hugging Face model hub (huggingface.co) when you choose to install a transcription model. As with any web request, that provider automatically receives technical connection data such as your IP address and request headers; their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy. Separately, if you use voice-activated checklists, your device's own speech recognition service may connect to its vendor as described in section 3.

SimCheck contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting services and no third-party tracking software. We do not create profiles, and we do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect any.

Charts and other files you import, your annotations, notes, logbook entries and any file you export are never uploaded or transmitted anywhere by the app. Import and export happen entirely on your device.

5. CHILDREN

SimCheck is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

6. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act to access, correct, delete or export your personal data.

Because we hold no copy of your data, you exercise these rights directly on your device: view and edit your data in the app, export it using the built-in export tools, and delete it by removing individual items, clearing the app's data, or uninstalling the app. If you have any question about this, contact us at simcheck.support@gmail.com.

7. INTERNATIONAL USERS

SimCheck is available through Google Play in supported countries and regions. Since your data never leaves your device through the app, there is no international transfer of your personal data by us.

8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy when the app changes. The revised policy will appear in the app with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use SimCheck after an update means you accept the revised policy.
