Clementi Route

Clementi is named after Sir Cecil Clementi Smith, the Governor of the Straits Settlement from 1887 to 1893. Clementi is home to our very school, and this neighbourhood has become our second home! Clementi can be considered as your typical Singaporean neighbourhood, with its own markets, hawker centers, shopping malls, all located in the hustle and bustle of the average Singaporean day. If you want an authentic yet realistic glimpse into a heartland area of Singapore, then Clementi is the place for you to visit!

1 | Casa Clementi

Rooftop Garden

You can visit the Rooftop Garden to enjoy the greenery and immerse in the neighbourhood life of Singaporeans.

Coffee Shop

At this quaint area, you can learn about the type of food typically sold at coffee shops in Singapore and purchase any Singaporean delicacies.

Sheng Siong Supermarket

You can head to the supermarket to buy local snacks & souvenirs, check out the selection of items and purchase daily essentials.

2 | The Clementi Mall

NTUC Fairprice (Basement 1)

Located in the basement of the mall, you can head to the supermarket to buy local snacks & souvenirs, check out the selection of items and stock up on daily essentials. This is a second option for you if you cannot find the items you need / did not visit Sheng Siong supermarket at Casa Clementi.

Clementi Public Library (Level 5)

You can head to the library to rest or check out the selection of books / facilities we have in Singaporean libraries. However, do note that the library only opens at 11am!

3 | Clementi Market (CLOSED FOR RENOVATION)

448 Clementi Market & Food Centre

Unfortunately, the Clementi Market and Food Centre is currently closed for renovation, but you may refer to the section below for the plethora of food options that many locals love - you may also find these local favourites in other eateries. Additionally, you can explore the shophouses that have food, beverage chains and convenience store along the street too!

4 | Block 443 Food Pavillion

At the Food Pavillion, also known as a "coffee shop" to many Singaporeans, you can find a wide variety of local foods usually offered at hawker centres in the comfort of a newly renovated food court setting. The Free and Easy Team highly recommends that you try out the Signature Minced Meat Noodle (Dry) from Pin Xiang here (photo on left)!

5 | Singapore Night Market (Clementi Town Centre)

The Clementi Night Food Bazaar, also known lovingly as a Pasar Malam ("night market" in Malay) to locals, is a unique but temporary street set up with a wide variety of stalls offering different night market favourites, from oyster stir-fry and coin pancakes to kebabs and potato skewers. Lining the street of Clementi Town Centre, the stalls are open from 12pm to 10pm daily until 31st May 2026. However, do note that you can only pay by cash or digital payment (not card) here.

5 | 321 Clementi

At 321 Clementi Mall, you can try out food offered by various restaurants, as well as explore the arcade there. You can also watch a movie at the movie theatre here! However, do note that the Arcade only opens at 11am and the cinema only opens at 10am.

6 | Clementi Sports Centre

You can check out the sporting facilities around the sports centre, such as the basketball courts and fitness corners, along with the playgrounds in the neighbourhoods nearby, although you will not be able to use a badminton court in the sports centre as it requires pre-booking.

7 | Transport with Bus 189

If you're tired of walking, the bus 189 also operates between NUS High School, Casa Clementi, and Clementi Mall.

Casa Clementi: Opposite Blk 420A
Opposite Nan Hua High School: NUS High Front Gate
NUS High School: NUS High Back Gate

Going to Casa Clementi/Clementi Mall: Take 189 from either the front or back gate. For Casa Clementi, alight at Opposite Blk 420A. For Clementi Mall, alight at Clementi MRT Exit A.

Returning to NUS High: Take 189 from opposite Clementi Mall, at Clementi MRT Exit B. You can alight at either the back gate, or wait one more stop to alight at the front gate.
