Marking the first academic initiative of the Department of Genetic Engineering, SIMATS Engineering, a guest lecture titled “Using Engineered Viruses to Fight Cancer: How an Oncolytic Herpes Virus Boosts the Immune System Against Breast Cancer” was successfully conducted under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). 

The Department places on record its sincere gratitude to the Director madam, Principal sir, and Vice-Principal sir for their continued encouragement and institutional support, which played a crucial role in the successful organization of this inaugural event. 

The Department also extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Harikrishnan Mohan, Senior Postdoctoral Researcher and Assistant Director, Protein Core Facility, Louisiana State University, USA, for delivering an engaging and insightful lecture that introduced students and faculty to advanced concepts in engineered viruses and cancer immunotherapy. 

The active participation of the students, along with the dedicated efforts of the faculty members and organizing team, greatly contributed to the smooth execution and overall success of the program.
