Chorus and Piano students enjoyed a fabulous concert at the Peabody auditorium in Daytona. Founded in 1918, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine is considered one of the finest symphony orchestras in Eastern Europe. The concert featured works by Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, along with “The First Ukrainian Symphony,” by Ukrainian composer Maksym Berezovsky. Concerto soloist Olga Kern, piano, won the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, in 2001. She is the first woman to do so in more than thirty years.

Congratulations to Marley and Maya Watson, who participated in the Florida All-State Treble Chorus! They were among 275 other middle school students from around the state of Florida. They made it through two very difficult auditions in the fall and traveled to Tampa for the FMEA Conference. Over the two days in Tampa, they rehearsed nearly 15 hours for their Saturday performance. We are so proud of your accomplishments!
