Welcome to My Gallery!
This page currently features a small selection of my creative work.
Please note that this is a fresh start and a temporary space. I am in the process of building my full, professional portfolio on Behance.
The Behance link is in progress and will be available soon! Please check back regularly to see the finished gallery.
I designed this as the official logo for my website.
The key elements are a whale in the night sky, clouds, and an oak tree. I know that motifs like the flying whale are common in illustration. But I like them.
After testing various compositions, I achieved this final, balanced version. There you are, the Silent Forest Logo.
These three circular icons are for my Books, Game Assets, and Portfolio sections. I aimed for visual unity by using bold, rounded lines across all of them.
The initial concepts were straightforward: the Books icon was simply about publishing; Game Assets aimed for a "game level" feel; and Portfolio focused on painting on flowers.
To deepen the meaning, I evolved the series by establishing the oak forest ecosystem as the core theme, enriched with symbolism borrowed from Celtic culture and European folklore. This symbolism acts as a quiet visual language:
The Books icon uses the Robin and Honeysuckle. The Game Assets icon features the European Common Frog and Hawthorn Berries. The Portfolio icon incorporates a subtle Celtic knot to symbolize the complex "life cycle" of a creative body of work.
Finally, each icon was given a distinct medium feel to align with its category:
The Books icon uses a canvas texture. The Game Assets icon features a 2D flat-color look to match common game art.
The Portfolio icon employs a wooden craft texture.
I feel the current colors are a bit "heavy," and I may try something "lighter," or even fully redesign or recolor them in the future. But for now, I'm happy with where they stand.
I can't claim this is a great piece of art—it was a bit of an accident! I suddenly realized I hadn't designed the icon for O'Lark, so I quickly spent about an hour and a half creating this gouache-like bird picture.
It's certainly not perfect, and I plan to replace it eventually, but for now, the bird is on duty!
These two paintings are essentially quick sketches. I initially planned to use the platforms' standard logos for my link icons—the regular way of doing things.
But I had a second thought: Why not draw something myself?
So, I spent about 45 minutes creating these two pieces. They aren't delicate, of course, but I believe sometimes a rough sketch has its own unique flavor and charm.
I was once tempted to start a business offering Chinese tattoo consultations and phrase design. These simple pieces are some of the icons I created for that venture.
The business is over now. Perhaps people would rather permanently tattoo "beef noodle" on their bodies than pay for cultural advice. 😜
I can't deny I was a little upset, but hey, c'est la vie.
Despite the outcome, I still love these simple little icons.
