Wars

The Sikh Army was created by fifth Sikh Guru and further strengthened by Sixth Guru as Akal Sena which is reorganized by Tenth Guru as Khalsa or Akal Purakh ki Fauj(Army of God). This army first fought under the command of Sixth Guru with Baba Budha as its commander, then later under leadership of Tenth Guru. Then under the Leadership of Guru Granth Sahib and Guru Panth Sahib. Sikh have fought against Mughals, Rajput, Ranghars, Afghan, Persian(Iranian), Maratha, Gurkha, British, German, Japanese, Chinese, Tibetans, Kashmiri, Dogra, etc Following is the list of Wars fought by Sikhs. 

1621 Sikh Mughal War (1621 - 1638)

This war was fought between Guru Hargobind and Jahangir and later by Shahjahan over the period of 18 years. This war was various failed campaign by Mughal Emperor to subdue Sikh Guru Hargobind. 

1652 Sikh Mughal War (1652 - 1658)

This war was fought between Guru Har Rai and Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Only one battle was fought in this war as Mughal army failed 3 times to reach Guru Har Rai in Kiratpur. After which they abandoned the thought of attacking Sikhs.

1691 Sikh Mughal War (1691 - 1696)

This war was fought between Guru Gobind Singh and Mughal Emperor Jahangir over protection of Rajput Kings from Mughal Emperor. 

1700 Sikh Mughal War (1700 - 1702)

This war was fought between Guru Gobind Singh and Hindu Rajput Kings reinforced by Mughal Imperial Army under Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb over the ownership of Anandpur which was disputed by Rajput kings.

1709 Sikh Mughal War (1709 - 1715)

This war was fought between Maharaja Gurbaksh Singh and Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah(1709-1712), Jahandar Shah(1712-1713) and Farukshiyar (1713 - 1715).

1726 Sikh Mughal War (1726 - 1731)

During the Atrocities on Sikh by the Mughal Government Sikh resisted and fought battles which are collectively known as Seventh War. 

1736 Sikh Mughal War (1736 - 1783)

This war was fought between Sikh and Mughal from 1736 - 1783 under various leadership on both side for the control of Panjab.
