Philanthropy is vital to the Sigma Chi experience. Active members dedicate multiple hours each academic year to supporting various charitable causes.
One of the fraternity’s signature events, Derby Days, is an annual week-long fundraiser held by many Sigma Chi chapters, including at Southeast Missouri State University. This event invites students to participate in raising funds for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, with 100% of the proceeds directly supporting the cause. Since December 2012, Sigma Chi has proudly partnered with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, which was established in 1993 by Significant Sig and Order of Constantine Sig Jon Huntsman Sr., Pennsylvania 1959.
Through Derby Days, Sigma Chi upholds its core values by fostering community engagement, promoting goodwill through cooperative events, and contributing to charitable efforts through service and fundraising.
