Through this module, I have learned how essential technology has become in the field of education, especially in shaping how teachers teach and how learners learn. I realized that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is not just a tool but a vital component in modern teaching and learning. It provides opportunities for creativity, accessibility, and collaboration that were not possible in traditional settings.

I also understood the importance of ICT competency standards for pre-service teachers like me. These standards guide us to become effective educators who can integrate technology meaningfully into our lessons. Learning about the digital divide between “digital natives” and “digital immigrants” helped me appreciate the need to bridge that gap through continuous learning and adaptation.

Through our discussion on Understanding the Basic Concept in ICT, I have learned how technology plays a vital role in transforming education and communication in the modern world. I realized that ICT is not only about using computers or the internet it is about how information and communication tools are applied to make learning more interactive, accessible, and effective.

As a future teacher, I now understand the importance of being competent in ICT to enhance my teaching strategies and engage my students in meaningful learning experiences. This topic helped me appreciate how ICT promotes collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking both inside and outside the classroom. 

From the topic Rules of Technology for Teaching and Learning, I have learned that using technology in education requires responsibility, discipline, and ethical awareness. Technology can greatly enhance the teaching and learning process, but it must be used properly and with purpose. I realized that as a future teacher, I need to follow certain rules and guidelines to ensure that technology is used to support learning, not distract from it.

This lesson made me understand the importance of digital citizenship respecting others online, protecting privacy, and using reliable information sources. It also reminded me to maintain balance and use technology as a tool for collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning.

    Digital literacy is an essential skill in the 21st century because it helps us use technology responsibly and effectively. As a student, it allows me to access information, communicate, and learn in faster and smarter ways. It also teaches me to think critically, especially when checking if online content is true or trustworthy. Although technology can be distracting, digital literacy reminds me to be responsible in what I search, share, and post. Overall, being digitally literate prepares me for future opportunities and helps me become a wiser and more responsible digital citizen.
