As 2025 draws to a close, we look back with full hearts and deep gratitude. What started as a small dream has grown into a vibrant, welcoming space where people gather to work, create, unwind, and enjoy coffee made with care. This year was packed with milestones, each one shaped by our team, our customers, and the amazing community that believed in us from day one.
Here’s a look back at the unforgettable moments that defined our first year:
September
Humble Beginnings, Big Steps
Before our opening, on September 2, it was a meaningful day to us. We began serving exclusively for our friends and family. It was also the day we finally met our first official barista, Jo Hefervez, his skill, talent, and influence helped bring SigCafe to life.
A week later, SigCafe finally opened its doors for soft opening. The early days were as exciting, and challening for us. Brewing our first cups and eager to receive feedback for our services, and products.
We also received a huge support from Davao's influential people who visited our cafe that helped build our foundation. Their support became our story that helped us reach more people that eventually became our regulars and friends.
Growth, Expansion, and Finding Our Flavor
Shortly after opening, we launched the first official SigCafe merch, and only lasted for a week for it to be sold out. This early access inspired us that we can also offer more experiences aside from coffee. Our menu started to expand and have finally set our flavors that resonates our vision and values.
We also started to step into actively participating in competitions. A huge learning for us as we joined Wallside’s latte art competition, in Tagum City

October
Wins, Commitments, and New Life
October 27, Our head barista won as Champion in Robien’s Latte Art Competition, that proved passion and dedication truly emerges
October 29, we took an initial step into committing to supporting local by being part of Davao’s coffee community Specialty Coffee Depot, that strengthens our vision and dream to only offer the highest quality of coffee directly from the local producers.
October 30, Clover gave birth to six adorable kittens. We can’t proceed without mentioning this because the cats are our lucky charms.
November
First Competitions and Community Impact
November 16, our junior barista Deniel Jay joined his first latte art competition during Kiel’s Coffee (345 Coffee House) Pour It Forward donation drive. We were incredibly proud to see him being inspired to take the stage, grow his craft, and represent SigCafe with courage and heart.
December
Official Launch, New Services, and More Achievements
December 4, Sigcafe launched on GrabFood, making our products available across the city.
December 6, Sigcafe held its official grand opening and cafe blessing, celebrated with friends, family, and long-time supporters.
Sigcafe finally onboarded our second barista, Ara, which we are very excited to work with and looking forward for a meaningful relationship.
We closed the year by joining Ideal Coffee Roaster’s year-end latte art competition, where two of our baristas made it to the semifinals. A moment that we are truly proud of considering the cafe only operated in three months.
Wrapping Up 2025 With Gratitude
It’s amazing how much happened in three months. Each milestone, every cup of coffee, every customer served, every win, every lesson is possible because of YOU.
To our friends, and families, collaborators, fellow coffee lovers, Thank you for believing in SigCafe, for being there on our beginnings, and for growing with us.
To the team, your passion, discipline, creativity, and heart are gems behind the success we achieved this year.
