Navigating Paris with a Navigo Pass

Dear SIG Writing Attendees and Presenters,

Given that you will be in Paris before the Paris Olympics 2024, you will be able to avoid the crowds expected in Paris for the Olympics.

A Navigo weekly pass should enable you to travel throughout Paris and its suburbs without constraints. The weekly pass for all 5 zones (Paris and suburbs) is valid Monday through Sunday and costs around 30.75 Euros. It is available at train stations.

Please note that the Navigo pass comes in the form of a rechargeable card or "support," which on its own costs 5 Euros and requires a photo.  If you are traveling to Paris by plane, you may buy the physical card or "support" at the Charles de Gaulle Airport, and then recharge it using one of the vending machines at the airport. You may then use the same pass to travel between the airport and Paris by train.

In case you are unable to get a Navigo card or "support" at the airport, you may buy an ordinary train ticket to Paris.

We wish you safe travels to, during, and back from, the conference!
