Model as part of the standard NetLogo library: Consumer Choice
"This model simulates how social influence and habits affect the sales-dynamics of a market with two competing products with changeble quality. Social influence can be informative (learning from others about the product) and normative (being influenced to behave like others). Agents can explore the quality of a product (learning by trying). They also can ask friends about the quality of a product (social learning). The total utility they get from using a product not only depends on the quality of this product (product utility), but also on abiding to the norm by using the same product as a majority of their friends (norm-based utility)."
