As for the second part of our mission, James Madison’s quote will suffice: “If men were angels, no government would be necessary.” To surmise, those who aim to govern well, still aim to govern, and those who wish to lead properly, still aim to lead. With trust in the institutions of our government at near-historic levels of depression, it is no wonder that as citizens we are concerned with the political class as those who are nothing but silver-tongued snake oil salesmen. As Sierran Republicans, we seek to counter that archetype, in every facet of political application. Acting graceful by being accountable and taking responsibility is vital to our mission just the same as being willing to be creative is, and that is a fact.
