Get involved. Get active. Get to know your world!
We have a time-sensitive opportunity to save an environmentally and culturally important ecosystem in Placer County. Located just just two miles north of the Rocklin campus, Clover Valley is at a critical juncture and needs your help. Please encourage the Sierra College Board of Trustees to join the Placer Land Trust, the Cities of Loomis and Rocklin, and Jessup University in supporting the acquisition of this "last wild place in Rocklin."
Plastic Bottle Ban Proposal
In November 2023, the Sierra College ECOS Club submitted a letter requesting that the Sierra Community College District enact a funding policy prohibiting the use of any District dollars for the purchase of single-use plastic water bottles. Check out the letter here.
ECOS Club Purpose
The Environmentally Concerned Organization of Students (ECOS) at Sierra College supports and promotes environmental advocacy, sustainability, stewardship and education. ECOStudents pursue local, state, national, and global issues that affect the environment, directly or indirectly.
ECOS strives to make positive changes happen on campus and in the community. ECOStudents attend conferences, take field trips, handle restoration projects, volunteer with local non-profits, care for a student garden and much more. Each spring semester, ECOStudents organize the Earth Day celebrations on campus.
