Who is this for?
Who: Earth & Environment Interest Area student scholars or related majors, alumnae entering the workforce, and people looking to shift their careers. All people are welcome to attend!
Cost: FREE and open to the public.
What: This is not a "job fair". It's an informational event designed to introduce student scholars diverse career options, help them expand their networks, and connect them to local and regional resources.

Short presentation introducing the professionals and support services in attendance.
Networking! We will leave lots of time for you to network. You can seek out the professionals who work in areas of interest to you and engage in organic conversations with them.
Get your questions answered & explore your career dreams!
Why attend?
You will learn:
What career opportunities exist in fields related to agriculture, geography, environmental sciences, geology, ecology, environmental policy, and more.
What the varied requirements are for different types of careers (do you need a bachelor's or graduate degree for that job, or can you get right to work with your associate's degree or certificate?).
What employers are looking for (spoiler: in addition to your technical and soft skills, they want you to know how to write and communicate effectively).
You can:
Talk one-on-one or in a small group with professionals in a variety of careers.
Get advice on what sorts of internships and jobs will give you the experience needed to advance your career.
Talk with representatives from local transfer institutions like Sac State and UC Davis.
Talk with Sierra College counselors, support specialists, financial aid, and more.
There will be food!
We know this event is during dinner time, so we will be providing food and beverages to keep your tummy quiet and your mind attentive. We don't want a grumbling stomach getting in the way of exploring your dreams!
Who will be there?
Past professionals include: Environmental Scientists, Foresters, GIS Specialists, Transportation Planners, State Park Rangers, Environmental Engineers, Public Utilities Commissioners, NEPA Planners, Engineering Geologists, Prescribed Fire Program Managers, Hazardous Substances Engineers, Biologists, Hydrologic Technicians, Ecologists, and more!
