Siddhartha Campus Hub - SAHE ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and how we safeguard your data when you use the Siddhartha Campus Hub Android application.

1. Overview & Disclaimer

Siddhartha Campus Hub is an academic companion application built to provide students, faculty, and staff with convenient access to official campus notices, circulars, exam updates, and departmental announcements sourced directly from official institutional portals.

The app is free to use and does not require account creation, logins, or submission of personal profile information.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or request any personal sensitive data, including:

• No personal names, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.

• No government IDs or financial/payment information.

• No precise or approximate GPS location data.

• No access to your contact lists, camera, microphone, or private media files.

• No Advertising IDs (Google Advertising ID / AD_ID has been explicitly disabled and removed).

3. Information Collected Automatically (via Third-Party Services)

To ensure the app remains fast, stable, and capable of delivering timely push notifications, we use trusted Google Firebase services that collect limited, non-personally identifiable diagnostic information:

A. App Performance & Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics & Performance)

• What is collected: Crash stack traces, operating system version, device model, and performance traces (such as app startup time and network response latency).

• Purpose: To diagnose software crashes, resolve technical bugs, and optimize app responsiveness.

B. Anonymous Usage Statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

• What is collected: Non-personal usage metrics such as screen views, session duration, and feature interaction (e.g. categories viewed).

• Purpose: To understand feature engagement and improve the overall user experience.

• Note: Ad personalization and advertising identifiers are disabled.

C. Push Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging - FCM)

• What is collected: A randomized, ephemeral Firebase Device Registration Token.

• Purpose: Strictly to deliver timely notifications regarding new campus notices, exam circulars, and departmental updates to your device.

4. Local Data Storage on Device

The app stores certain user preferences locally on your device (using Android Room Database and DataStore):

• Bookmarked / Favorite notices

• Read / Unread status of circulars

• Selected department filters and UI theme preferences

This information is stored exclusively on your device hardware and is never transmitted to external servers. Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app deletes this local data completely.

5. Third-Party Service Providers & External Links

The app provides direct links to official institutional portals (e.g., LMS portal, official college websites, and academic document repositories). When you click an external link, you are directed to that third-party website, which operates under its own privacy policy.

6. Data Security & Encryption

All data transmitted between the app and external services (such as Firebase and institutional notice feeds) is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS / TLS protocols

7. Children’s Privacy

The app does not address or target anyone under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.
