I am an Assistant Project Scientist at UC Riverside. I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at LIGO Lab MIT from 2021 to 2025. LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) are a set of detectors searching for gravitational wave signals from the Universe and made the first direct detection of these signals in late 2015 leading to the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics! More information on LIGO is here.
In my work I apply computer vision, machine learning, signal processing, time series and statistical analysis to identify and reduce noise in the gravitational wave detectors data. I develop and maintain software tools for noise analysis and classification. I also work on developing technologies for the next generation gravitational wave detectors and have a lot of experience with large data sets and scientific simulation.
