I have a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Ottawa. I am eager to devote myself to university research and teaching. I have specialized in Open-Economy Macroeconomics, primarily focusing on Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) models, Structural Vector Autoregression (VAR) models, and other time-series methodologies to address complex economic puzzles, such as the real exchange rate puzzle and the private consumption puzzle. My research combines theoretical and empirical approaches to investigate fiscal policy dynamics, real exchange rate behaviour, environmental pollution, international trade, and economic growth. This dual focus on robust modelling and applied econometric analysis has equipped me to contribute meaningful insights into policy-relevant issues in macroeconomics.
As a research economist at the Consumer Price Division (CPD) of Statistics Canada, I specialize in critical aspects of price measurement and inflation analysis. My expertise centers on replacement costs of owner-occupied dwellings, a crucial component of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) basket, alongside developing multilateral price indices using high-frequency scanner data.
