Dodgson's Tea Party is every Thursday at 12:45 in PS 255
The Illinois Tech Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics is committed to advancing the mathematics and computational science community across the university. SIAM IIT hosts the weekly Dodgson's Tea Party, inviting faculty and students to gather for tea, snacks, and conversation. We also host various larger events throughout the semester such as programming workshops, trips to nearby labs, talks from invited speakers, and community social nights.
Beyond events, the Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics coordinates the math mentorship network, offering guidance for research, academics, and anything necessary to pursue a career in applied math!
Naturally, SIAM IIT interfaces between the Department of Applied Math and the students within it, organising town halls, the applied math student advisory committee, and selecting the representative for the College of Computing Student Council.
Membership within SIAM IIT welcomes students into a community dedicated to math and science, granting many possibilities and resources.
The mission of the Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics of the Illinois Institute of Technology is to promote student success and awareness of applied math and computational sciences, working to ensure mathematics improves our future through the aptitude and community of our members.
The vision of the Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics of the Illinois Institute of Technology is a an enriched, educated, outreaching, and successful community of mathematically-informed students.
