The Central States Section of SIAM serves members in Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. The section was formed in 2014. Activities for the Central States Section of SIAM include annual section meetings, seminars, and workshops for advanced topics of common interests of the section members, encouraging new SIAM student chapters and facilitating all the SIAM student chapters in the central region to connect together, promoting collaboration in applied mathematics and its applications to industry and science, and expanding the influence of SIAM in the central states. Participation in SIAM Central States Section activities are open to all institutions and industries in the region with an interest in applied and computational mathematics.
Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is an international organization that fosters the development of applied mathematics and computational methodologies needed in various application areas through publications, conferences, and communities like student chapters, geographic sections, and activity groups.
