The Sunraysia Indian Association Inc. (SIA) is a not-for-profit organisation established to unite and support individuals of Indian origin living in the Sunraysia region. This region includes Mildura, Irymple, Merbein, Nichols Point, Red Cliffs, Robinvale, Euston, Gol Gol, Buronga, Coomealla, Curlwaa, Dareton, Wentworth, and surrounding areas.
SIA began as a community initiative in October 2017, with the celebration of Diwali – the Festival of Lights. Following the success of this event, a community gathering was held at Nowingi Place, Mildura, on 5 November 2017, where members discussed the needs of the local Indian community and the vision for a formal organisation. This led to the incorporation of SIA on 3 January 2018.
Today, SIA proudly represents a growing community of over 220 registered members, reflecting the rich diversity of Indian cultures, languages, regions, and religions. Our committee comprises individuals from various professional and cultural backgrounds, working together to serve and support the Indian diaspora in the region.
Membership is free and open to anyone of Indian descent. We are committed to fostering cultural connection, community engagement, and mutual support among our members and the broader Sunraysia community.
