During my PhD, I worked in Prof Tarun K. Panda, IIT Hyderabad, research group to develop homogeneous catalysts for the ring-opening polymerization and copolymerization of cyclic esters employing earth-abundant metals. In our group, several organometallic catalysts have been developed for the ROP of cyclic esters in homogeneous medium producing polymers having low polydispersity values. These catalysts employ metals like Li, Na, K, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba which are readily available with comparatively low toxicity. Also, these catalysts follow a mild synthetic route and are environment-friendly.
I currently work with Prof Daniel Taton, University of Bordeaux, France, research group to utilize organocatalysts for the ring-opening polymerization and copolymerization of cyclic esters. The project focusses on the stereoselective polymerization of racemic lactide.
