User Experience Designer responsible for the app’s design from concept to delivery.
My goal was to design an accessible application that would allow users to quickly and easily order food from Burgers Food at their own convenience.
Burgers Food has an obvious goal that requires a straightforward and quick-to-use solution. The app looks professional and beautiful at the same time.
Burgers Food has to devise an all-encompassing design process. A complete design process of researching, building, and refining was used to create a complete experience design for an app that allows customers to order takeout/delivery from Burgers Food.
After I settled on my project idea, I searched the web for food delivery apps, which gave me a better idea of the food delivery apps out there. For each app, we identified what key features they had and read reviews to identify pain points and features people wanted. We use this information to formulate our user interview questions and will revisit them when making workflow and design decisions. My research identified (3) pain points:
Accessibility
Ease of use
Time
User Flow
Here is a portion of the whole user flow showing the decisions that the user and system can make in the process of browsing through dishes.
The Burgers Food app was designed and developed in three months. I conducted several interviews and created an empathy map to understand the users I was designing for and their needs. The main user base identified are busy moms and working adults who just want to save some time, money and have a simple and straightforward overall experience.
With an idea of all the necessary screens, I sketched several iterations of each screen on paper. To give users a quick and stress-free experience, I prioritized ease of use and a quick ordering process when sketching.
One of the findings after a second usability study using a high-fidelity prototype was the concern about the security of user payment data. During the checkout process, I include reassuring copies to ensure users feel safe at checkout and add new payment methods to their accounts.
The next thing I do is perform another usability test to try and figure out if I've solved the user's pain point.I will continue to work on designing and adding different features such as promo pages and fan pages.
Consult with stakeholders to understand the problems they are facing and what I can do to help design a solution.
