Permissions

• For designated roles such as Imam, Mouzan, Mualim, and Admin: It enables location-based attendance tracking, involving accessing your device's precise location (GPS) when you are using the app and its attendance features, to verify your presence at a designated Masjid location.

• For the "User" user type: This permission is utilized to provide general location-based services and features within the app, such as displaying content or relevant information based on your general vicinity. Please note that for "User" types, precise location data collected is NOT used for attendance tracking or related administrative features.

Camera Access: To allow users to take and upload photos for profile pictures or other app-related content where applicable.

Storage Access: To save and retrieve files from your device, such as downloaded books or profile images.

We only request permissions that are necessary for the functionality of our app, and you can manage these permissions through your device settings. Please note that denying essential permissions, especially location access for certain user roles, may impact the functionality of specific features.

How We Use Your Personal Data

We use your personal data for the following specific purposes, depending on your user type:

• To provide and maintain our app, including to monitor the usage of our app.

• To manage your account and provide customer support.

• To notify you about changes to our app or any products and services we offer.

• To allow you to participate in interactive features of our app when you choose to do so.

• To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our app.

• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues.

• To enable and manage distinct user roles within the app (User, Imam, Mouzan, Mualim, Admin).

• For Imam, Mouzan, and Mualim roles: To facilitate and verify location-based attendance by comparing your current location to registered Masjid locations.

• For Mualim roles: To calculate and record attendance durations for Madarsa sessions.

• For Imam, Mouzan, and Mualim roles: To automatically mark designated users as absent if they do not record attendance within specified timings.

• To manage and change user content through our admin app, including managing user-generated content and associated data.

Collecting Your Personnel Data

We collect personal data from you when you register for an account, use our app's features, or interact with our services. This includes:

• Account Data: Such as your name, email address, your selected user type (User, Imam, Mouzan, Mualim, Admin), associated Masjid name (if applicable to your user type), and other contact details you provide during registration or profile setup.

• Location Data: Precise geographical location data from your device is collected for all user types when you grant the permission.

  • For Imam, Mouzan, Mualim, and Admin user types: This data is specifically used when using attendance-related features for verification purposes, to confirm your presence at a designated Masjid location for attendance recording and related administrative functions.

  • For the "User" user type: This data is used to provide general location-based features within the app, to enhance your experience by offering content or services relevant to your general vicinity. For "User" types, precise location data collected is not used for attendance tracking or associated administrative features. Location data is not continuously tracked for any user type when the app is not in active use or not performing a specific location-dependent task.

• Usage Data: Information about how you use our app, including the features you use, the pages you visit, your attendance records (for Imam, Mouzan, and Mualim roles), the times you log in and out, and other actions within the app.

• Device Information: Information about the device you are using to access the app, such as the device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.

Firebase and Data Storage 

We use Firebase, a service provided by Google, to store and manage your data. Firebase may collect data such as:

• User authentication information.

• Real-time data and interactions within the app.

• Analytics data to help us understand how our app is used.

Admin Access

Our app allows designated administrators to manage various aspects of the app's content and user data. Administrators have the ability to upload, modify, and delete content as needed to ensure the quality and relevance of the information provided. This includes the ability to view and manage user accounts, only Mouzan , Imam and Mualim  types, associated Masjid information, and attendance records to ensure proper functioning and oversight of the app's services. We ensure that administrators handle user data in strict accordance with our privacy policy, applicable laws, and with an emphasis on data confidentiality. 

Books Loading (Google Drive)

Our app provides access to Islamic books and content, which are loaded through Google Drive. When you access books within our app, we are accessing files that are publicly shared or specifically shared with our application's Google Drive account. This process does not access your personal Google Drive files or collect any personal data from your individual Google Drive account. The integration is solely for the purpose of delivering content to you through our app. 

Use of YouTube API Services

Our app, Shujaiya - An Islamic App, uses YouTube API Services to provide enhanced video content. By using our app, you are agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Data Collection and Use

When you use our app, we may collect and use your personal data in conjunction with YouTube API Services. This may include:

• Viewing and interacting with YouTube videos.

• Collecting information such as video preferences, watch history, and related interactions.

We ensure compliance with YouTube's Terms of Service and Privacy Policies, and any data collected from YouTube API Services is used solely to provide and improve our app's features and services.

• With Other Users (Limited): Depending on your user role (e.g., if you are an Admin), certain limited information about other users (e.g., their name, user type, attendance status for relevant roles) may be visible to you within the app to facilitate administrative and oversight functions.

• With Service Providers: We may share your personal data with trusted third-party service providers to perform services on our behalf, such as monitoring and analyzing the use of our app (e.g., Firebase for hosting, authentication, and analytics), and for customer support. These service providers are obligated to protect your information.

• Within Our Organization: Your data may be accessed by relevant personnel within Shujaiya - An Islamic App (e.g., our technical support team, administrators) solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving the app and its services.

• With Your Consent: We may disclose your personal data for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

• For Legal Reasons: We may share your personal data to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our app, our users, or others.
