We hold a few events throughout the year and this is where you'll find out more
Held three times a year and everything you need to know is here
Open to all Club Members. 2025 date: 21st December )
Classes: Kyu Grade Open; Dan Grade Open; Beginners Hantei
Medals, lots of fights, flag waving - a relaxed but competitive day. Then Christmas Lunch afterwards in the 2nd dojo.
Ad hoc events organised by the club. This year, on Feb 15th 2025, we held a dedicated coaching day, specifically for those who already hold 4th or 5th dan. The aim of the day was to focus on the skills, waza and training methods that particpants will need for the next grade up. Small groups, top coaches and individual feedback to take away for your own practice. Coaches were: O'Donnell Sensei, Kyoshi 7th dan; Goodwin Sensei Renshi 7th dan and Ogle Sensei, 6th dan
Feedback from attendees was excellent so we're doing it again in 2026 and we're delighted to welcome Andy Fisher, Renshi, 7th dan as our lead coach. Places are limited to just 20 and a Reserve List (we're already sold out for next year) is here.
Used to be an annual event, then covid and venue changes interfered but we're planning to resurrect this great event once we've found a suitable venue.
A different format to the usual; six shiai-jo, initially split by grade. Winner moves up one shiai-jo, loser moves down. Number of fights and wins are recorded for a fight off for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 2nd dojo afterwards. Lots of fights for everyone.
