About Me
Hello! I'm Shubham Trehan, a dedicated and passionate researcher and engineer with a rich academic background and diverse project experience. Currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Auburn University under the supervision of Dr. Sathyanarayanan N. Aakur , I have previously studied at Texas Tech University (TTU) and Panjab University (PU, India), holding advanced degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Physics.
Currently I am working in the group of Computer Vision and Understanding Lab led by Dr.Aakur. My research interests lie at the fascinating intersection of computer vision, machine learning, and AI. I am dedicated to advancing the field by focusing on reducing the training requirements for AI models and enabling robots to navigate crowded areas efficiently. I have authored several impactful publications, including pioneering work on scarce data learning for parasite ova recognition (ICMLA) and innovative techniques for active vision in action localization (WACV).
My expertise and contributions extend to reviewing for prestigious conferences such as ICMLA, CODS-COMAD, and NeurIPS. By amalgamating these cutting-edge research areas, I strive to push the boundaries of AI, making intelligent systems more efficient and adaptable in dynamic environments.
Throughout my academic journey, I have spearheaded multiple innovative projects, such as developing a sensor system for pothole detection and creating models for digit and action recognition. My technical proficiency spans a variety of programming languages and frameworks, including Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
Beyond my technical endeavors, I have a strong inclination towards mentoring and have guided REU students during the summers of 2021 and 2022. My contributions have been recognized with awards like the Seacat Scholarship at TTU and winning the OSU App Center and Riata Center App competition in 2022.
I'm excited to continue exploring the vast possibilities within the realms of AI and machine learning, contributing to advancements that can make a tangible impact on the world.
