My research focuses on surface–liquid interactions, with an emphasis on droplet and solid impact dynamics on engineered surfaces, including superhydrophobic, liquid-impregnated, and flexible substrates. High-speed imaging is used to study droplet impact and rebound, water entry, cavity and jet formation, ice and hydrate adhesion, and electrowetting phenomena. These investigations aim to uncover the fundamental interfacial physics governing fluid motion near solid surfaces. The findings contribute to the design of durable and functional surfaces for energy, anti-icing, and fluidic applications. In future work, I plan to employ particle image velocimetry (PIV) to resolve detailed flow fields around surfaces. I also aim to integrate infrared (IR) thermal imaging to capture coupled flow and thermal effects during droplet and fluid motion.
