I am an assistant professor at the Department of Social Policy of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). I am also part of Population at LSE.
My research areas intersect demography, education, and social policy. I am currently studying the causes and consequences of low fertility in China and the role of education in fertility transitions in developing countries.
I hold a Ph.D. in Demography and Social Policy from Princeton University and received my B.S. and M.A. from Stanford University.
Previously, I worked for the World Bank, PARIS21/International Household Survey Network, and Oxford Policy Management in the areas of education and statistical capacity development.

PhD Supervision
I am currently accepting PhD students in Social Policy or Demography. I welcome applicants from any disciplinary background interested in studying fertility transitions, educational inequality, and/or the role of policies. Research proposals set in low- and middle-income countries and using quantitative methods are particularly welcome.
