I am an engineering manager at Google, NYC, working on geo (local) search and machine learning.

Prior to that, I was principal research staff member and manager at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. At IBM Research, I held multiple technical leadership and management positions, with missions ranging from cloud infrastructure, data platform, to AI for IT support.

I have extensive R&D experience in cloud computing, machine learning and data mining. My work has not only advanced the research in these areas, but also generated significant product impact. Some recent projects I worked on include Augmented Reality and Virtual Assistant for Technical Support, IBM Cloud Container Service, etc. I was awarded the IBM Corporate Technical Recognition in 2013, six times the IBM Research Outstanding Technical Accomplishment Awards and three times the IBM Research Division Awards between 2007 and 2019. I have published over 40 peer-reviewed research papers and authored 20+ US patents. I am a senior member of IEEE and ACM.

I received Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005.
