I am a software Engineer and TLM at Google, NYC, working on Real World Journey search.  My work contributes to Google's generative search products (Search AI Mode, AI-orchestrated SRP), with a focus on vertical (local, travel, finance) user journeys and search quality.  Most recently, I am enthusiastic about bringing multi-modal AI capabilities to search experience, including real world problem diagnosis and auto evaluating search experiences.

Prior to joining Google, I was principal research staff member and manager at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.  There, I held multiple technical leadership and management positions, with missions ranging from cloud infrastructure, data platform, to AI for IT support.

I have extensive R&D experience in Generative AI, machine learning, distributed systems and cloud.  I was awarded the IBM Corporate Technical Recognition in 2013, six times the IBM Research Outstanding Technical Accomplishment Awards.  I have published over 40 peer-reviewed research papers and authored 20+ US patents.  I am a senior member of IEEE and ACM.

I received Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005.
