This 8-week program aims to equip high school and college students with valuable workforce development skills through hands-on experience. By joining us, students will contribute to various departments while gaining insights into municipal operations. We are committed to nurturing their potential with mentorship opportunities that will shape their career paths.

Career Immersion Day, April 8, 2025:
There will be 2 sessions offered this day. The morning session will be from 8:00-12:00 pm and the focus will be on care of the cardiac patient. The afternoon session will be from 1:00-5:00pm and the focus will be on the care of Women & Children. Students will only be eligible to select 1 session, and each session will accommodate up to 40 students.
The sign-up form will accept submissions until 3/29/25.
Students will receive notification if they are selected by 4/2/205.
Career Immersion Days were created to expand the number of outreach opportunities to students as they explore healthcare careers to build the pipeline of future healthcare workers. These days will follow a group model versus individual shadowing opportunities to allow for a more meaningful experience and to accommodate more students.

Attention Junior Males. We are excited to announce the 2025 American Legion Palmetto Boys State will be held June 8-14 at Anderson University. Applications are available now in the guidance office and are due back to guidance by 4:00 pm on Monday February 24th. Interviews will be conducted on March 4th and 5th here at Spartanburg High School. Soon after you turn in your application, you will be notified of your interview date and time. This is an amazing opportunity to learn effective communication, learn how Government and Politics work, is great college preparation and an incredible way to meet rising seniors from all over the state. Hello Junior Girls! This year's ALA Palmetto Girls State will be held on the campus of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC during the week of June 8-14, 2025. This week is a hands-on application of government and citizenship. The girls attending ALA Palmetto Girls State (also referred to as "delegates" or "citizens") participate in mock political activities at the municipal, county and state levels of government by creating the mythical state of "Palmetto". Attached you will find the application that is due to Mrs. Holmes in guidance by 4:00 pm on February 19th. If you email your application please make sure you get a received reply by me. Interviews will be held the following week by ladies from the American Legion Auxiliary and 5 young ladies will be chosen. Details of your interview date and time will be provided later. Thank you for your interest in representing Spartanburg High School in this exciting endeavor and remember to have your application in by February 19th. SRHS is excited to share the application link for students wishing to participate in Career Immersion Days at SRHS. The first career immersion day is scheduled for January 3, 2025. Application link: https://forms.office.com/r/QWFLjU1P5w
This form is for the January 3, 2025 sessions. There will 2 sessions offered this day. The morning session will be from 8:00-12:00 pm with a capacity of 20 students. The afternoon session will be from 1:00-5:00pm with a capacity of 40 students. Students will only be eligible to select 1 session.
The sign-up form will accept submissions between 11/22/24 – 12/16/24.
Students will receive notification if they are selected by 12/20/24. If not selected, students will receive notification of upcoming Career Immersion Days. We will offer additional sessions during Spring Break. We hope to have those dates and sessions confirmed by the 12/20.

How will we select? Once all applications are submitted, a committee will review each submission to offer a fair representation of students across our service area. We will be monitoring participation as we offer additional sessions to ensure each session offers opportunities for new students. I encourage students to only submit for the session that matches their college or career goals, so they remain eligible for upcoming sessions.

Please arrive on time to the AUX Gym, we will start the test after the morning announcements. Here are a few important reminders:
The test is DIGITAL, please bring your MacBook (FULLY CHARGED)
A calculator will be available on the digital platform, but you may bring your own if you prefer.
Scratch paper will be provided but please bring your own pencil.
There will be a scheduled 10 min break if you would like to bring a snack and/or water.
Remember: There will not be a makeup test day.
Use Collegeboard.org and Khan academy for PSAT practice help! Prepare!
You can access the AUX gym using the stairs to the left of Valhalla or the stairway on the right after you pass the library.
