The Shroud of Turin
The Burial Cloth of Christ and Evidence of the Resurrection
There is strong evidence that the Shroud of Turin is the burial cloth of Jesus Christ, that the Shroud once contained the body of the flogged and crucified Christ and that His image was projected onto the cloth when He was resurrected. Skeptics usually cite the 1988 carbon dating analysis of the Shroud, which dated the Shroud to between 1260 and 1390 AD. However, subsequent research has revealed that the carbon dating analysis was severely flawed, that the tested sample came from a part of the Shroud that had been repaired in the 16th century, and that the scientists who conducted the analysis misrepresented the test results. X-ray and vanillin analyses of the Shroud have dated it to around the time of Christ. Modern graphics analyses have found that the Shroud's image contains 3D information, even though it is a 2D image, which is impressive evidence the Shroud was once wrapped around a body. A variety of scientific tests have ruled out the idea that the Shroud was painted.
