DHARMA KARMA SHRI CHITRAGUPTA DEVSTHANAM
On first appearance Dharma Karma Shri Chitragupta Devsthanam at Shankar Nagar, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) may look like any other Hindu temple but as anyone goes into the detail of the place he/she may realise that this place is one of the rarest places where you can find the grand idol of Lord of Karma Shri Chitragupta but also a very powerful form of Lord Ganesha .i.e. Shipra Prasad Ganapati. This six hand avatar of Lord Ganesha (https://youtu.be/GK1WMd9ZY0E?t=396) is the one who rewards true devotion and punishes the wrong-doing, instantly based on one’s Karma.
Lord Chitragupta is also the presiding deity for the planet Ketu (one of the Navagraha). It is believed that worshipping him can mitigate the ill effects of planet Ketu. Similarly, Shipra Prasad Ganapati is said to be related to Swati Nakshatra.
Quick boon granting Shipra Prasad Ganapati is said to be offered with pomegranate fruit and crowned with a crown made of grass. The temple aims to start the tradition of offering the same to Shipra Prasad Ganapati, along with that tradition of offering a pen and an inkpot to the god who keeps an account of everyone’s Karma (Akashic records).
The glory of Lord Srinivas is known to all. Devotees also aim to invoke Lord Venkateswara Swamy in the temple premises with the blessing of whom the temple came into existence.
Devotees wish to invoke deities with their prayers and devotion and hope almighty will guide and bless one and all.
A magnificent set of Navgraha is also going to be in the temple premises along with Shipra Prasad Ganapati, Dharma Karma Shri Chitragupt and Lord Venkateswara.
There is a Tulsi Chauraha as well as a Peepal tree along with pomegranate and coconut trees in the temple compound.
A small stage and a lawn sitting area are also being developed in order to organise small religious and social events.
This Devsthanam aimed to serve the entire Dharmic Family that includes Sanatani Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains. Four holy symbols of Dharmic faiths on the Shikhar (tower) of the temple can be seen emphasizing the philosophy behind this Dharma Kshetra.
Chitragupta Utsav murti, Kanchipuram (India).
