Shreya Sarkar

Hi, I am Shreya Sarkar. I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, Berkeley. 

I am on the 2025–2026 economics job market.

I am a development economist studying the determinants of worker and firm productivity in low-income settings. I also study how environmental shocks, and the policies intended to mitigate them, alter economic activity. I use large-scale field experiments with firms and workers, and quasi-experimental analysis of rich administrative data, to answer core questions about labor markets and welfare.
